availability of beds for some time yet will be the only limitation
on this tendency to institutional confinements. It is to be
hoped that this obstacle will be removed, lor it is difficult to
see what arguments can be adduced for attempting to restrain
this desire for in-patient accommodation. Many of us are
heartily in favour of the institutional delivery of as many as
may desire the accommodation, and would insist that all
mothers with their first baby should be confined in hospital.
