The usual period for which this help is supplied during confinement
is fourteen days. The number of helps provided was
25, 10 free of cost and 15 on part payment.
Sterilised Maternity Outfits. Sterile Outfits in sealed
metal containers for use at confinements may be had from the
Welfare Centres or from the Council's midwife. They are
supplied at cost-price and in necessitous cases at half-price or
free of cost according to means.
Nineteen outfits were supplied—twelve at cost-price, four at
half-price and five free.
Dental Scheme. There was a further increase in the work
of the dental clinics. 457 mothers and children made 1,235
attendances as against 421 persons and 873 attendances in the
year before.
