As a result of these occurrences, the Committee decided to send
a communication to all confectioners in the district, stressing the need
for the greatest care in the preparation and manufacture of articles of
food designed for human consumption, and warning them that a most
serious view would be taken of any further instances.

Food Inspection.

The following articles of food found to be unsound, diseased or unwholesome and unfit for human food, were surrendered and either destroyed or taken charge of by the Ministry of Food Salvage Department, or so disposed of as to prevent them from being used for human food:—

Bakehouses.
There are four bakehouses in this district and all have received
periodical inspection. No special action on bakehouses with the
exception of repairs and cleansing was called for during the year.
