Toddler Clinics.
Children from 2 to 5 years who were examined at the special
Toddler Clinics numbered 606, approximately 200 from each of the
age groups, 2 years + , 3 years + , 4 years + . The number of defects
found was 852, of which 437 were referred for observation and 415
recommended for treatment.
The number of children found to have defects was 460, which was
76 per cent, of the total, compared with 72 per cent, found defective
the year before. Although the number of defective children was
slightly higher than in 1938, the number of defects per child examined
was 1.4, compared with 1.6 in the previous year.
