The homes of the children who are reported by the School Teachers to
be suffering from these diseases are visited by the Health Visitors of the
County Council, and I visited the schools at times of outbreak and advised
as to precautions.
There are no facilities in the District for the cleansing of verminous
persons or their belongings.

Ten of the cases of Diphtheria occurred at the Boys' Surgical Home,
Banstead, and one at the Kensington, Chelsea and St. Marylebone Schools.
In addition, 18 cases of Erysipelas, 10 of Pneumonia, and 5 of
Dysentery were notified in the Banstead Mental Hospital.
