Letters were sent to the firms concerned and the labels were
revised.
Complaints from the public relating to food were as follows:—
Grey matter in a loaf.
Mouldy steak and kidney pie.
Mouldy sponge cake.
Hide and hair in steak and kidney pie.
Mouldy pork pie.
Black mark in a loaf.
Wasp in a loaf.
Warning letters were sent to the firms concerned.
Ice-Cream
Three establishments in the Borough are registered for the manufacture
of ice-cream and 154 for the storage and sale of ice-cream.
Thirty-two visits were paid during the year.
Bacteriological Examination of Cups and Glasses
Eighty-nine swabs were taken from tea cups at various catering
establishments and 11 swabs were taken from beer glasses at various
public houses during the year, and were submitted to the Public
Health Laboratory for bacteriological examination.
