One case, regarding a dirty milk bottle, was dismissed on the
grounds that the offence had been committed at the premises
where the milk was bottled, and that the address of those
premises was outside the jurisdiction of the Court.
Proceedings were instituted against a manufacturer for an
infringement of the Labelling of Food Order, 1946, and the
Defence (Sale of Food) Regulations, 1943, in respect of an article
sold as pepper compound. A fine of £1 and £5 5s. costs were
awarded on each of two summonses.
Ice-Cream.
Four premises in the Borough are registered for the manufacture
of ice-cream, and one hundred and twelve for the storage
of ice-cream. Two hundred and eighty visits were paid during
the year.
