the same as other sessions. A similar session was commenced at
Sherwood House Clinic in June.
General Remarks
The nutrition, clothing and cleanliness of the children continued
to be of a high standard, and the children attended the
centres very regularly.
The centres are staffed by a medical officer, two health visitors
and voluntary helpers, who have rendered most valuable service
by selling food, keeping the registers, etc.
Sunlight Treatment
The arrangements with the Wilson Hospital for patients to
receive sunlight treatment was continued during the year, and 57
patients were referred for treatment. During the year the Committee
agreed to the purchase of equipment for sunlight treatment
for use at Church Road and Sherwood House Clinics.
Orthopedic Clinic
Arrangements have been made with the Wilson Hospital,
Mitcham, for children in need of orthopædic treatment to attend
the orthopaedic clinic of this hospital. During the year 33 cases
were referred to this clinic, as compared with 58 cases in 1946.
Dental Treatment
The dental clinic for nursing and expectant mothers and
children under five years of age is held at Church Road each week.
All ante-natal cases, including the cases booked for confinement
at the Woodlands Maternity Home, received dental inspection,
followed by treatment and dentures when necessary.
The arrangement made with the Surrey County Council for the
services of a County Dental Surgeon and dental attendant have
