PIGGERIES
There are 13 piggeries in the Borough. 127 visits were paid
during the year.
CARAVAN YARDS
Nine yards were licensed during the year for a period of two
years.
Number of vans in yards, 30.
Number of persons occupying these vans, 68 persons over 10
years, 27 persons under 10 years.
Eighty-nine visits of inspection were made.
OTHER FOOD PREPARING PLACES
There are four other premises in which food is prepared for
human consumption. All of these have been systematically
visited.
NUTRITION
During the year 4,335 gallons of liquid milk and 9,366 lbs. of
dried milk have been supplied free or at cost price to mothers
and children under five years of age in the Borough.
Arrangements were also made for necessitous nursing and
expectant mothers to receive free meals.
HEALTH PROPAGANDA
The cinema van of the Health and Cleanliness Council was
engaged for showing health films at Mitch am Fair. The van
attracted large crowds, and although it is difficult to judge how
many of the spectators learnt the lessons which were taught, it
is nevertheless a useful form of propaganda.
