Ante-Natal Centres
One Ante-Natal Clinic is held each month at the Cavendish
Road, Meopham Road and Town Hall Centres, and one clinic
each week in connection with Woodlands Maternity Home. As
the number of patients attending the Woodlands Clinic was so
large, an additional clinic was commenced in November. This
extra clinic is held once each month.
The total number of expectant mothers attending the centres
was 476, the total number of attendances being 2,673. Of the
total number of notified births, 49 per cent, of the mothers had
attended the ante-natal centres, that is, almost half.
That the ante-natal work has grown steadily during the past
five years will be readily appreciated by a glance at the following
table, which gives a comparison of the figures for the years 19331937
inclusive:-
