Paratyphoid Fever
One case of paratyphoid fever was notified in a male aged 13
years. The patient returned from a continental holiday with
symptoms of diarrheoa and a fortnight later was admitted to
hospital where he remained for six weeks.
Scarlet Fever

There were 92 corrected scarlet fever notifications during the year, but no deaths were attributed to the disease. Of 27 cases admitted to hospital the diagnosis was amended in one instance to German Measles.

Whooping Cough
The number of notified cases during the year was 133. No
deaths were attributed to the disease, 14 severe cases were
admitted to hospital and the average stay in hospital of the cases
was 22 days
