CONTROL OP DISEASE
The total number of notifications for the year was 2,221 as
compared with 812 the previous year, The increase was due to the
normal biennial increase in measles notifications
Tuberculosis
The number of cases on the tuberculosis register on 31st
December, 1957 was 1,856 an increase of 2 on the previous year
There were 90 new cases of tuberculosis notified during 1957
(86 pulmonary and 4 non pulmonary) compared with 101 in 1956 (92
pulmonary and 9 non-pulmonary)

1957 related to infections of bones and joints in two cases, the
genito urinary system in one case and the lymphatic system in the
other
