At the 31st December, 1956, the following premises were
registered under the Food and Drugs Act, 1955, for the manufacture,
storage or sale of ice cream, or for the preparation of sausages
or preserved foods:-

Storage of Ice Cream 1
Cooking of hams and other meats 36

Preparation of jellied eels 3
Boiling shell fish 2
Heat treatment of ice cream is now restricted to two manufacturers,
one of which is the Lido, in both places a good standard
of hygiene has long been established.
The following is a summary of the bacteriological grading of the ice cream samples taken:-
