VACCINATION AND IMMUNISATION
(Section 26)
Vaccination
The percentage of children under one year of age vaccinated
in 19 55 was 54.5%. This is the best it has ever been and
justifies the efforts of the medical and nursing staff in emphasising
to parents the importance of vaccination and in offering
vaccination in the clinics.

Immunisation against Diphtheria and Whooping Cough
In spite of continual efforts to secure the immunisation of
at least 75% of babies in the Area before their first birthday, it
has not yet proved possible to achieve this target. In fact
