Insect Pests
The department continues to use a 5% solution of D. D. T. in
water for dealing with insect pests. For certain insects a 5%
D.D.T. powder is used in addition to spraying round the infested
area.
Households are visited by sanitary inspectors prior to
removal to Council houses and those cases which are found to be
verminous are disinfested before removal.

Inspections were carried out by the sanitary inspectors and

disinfestation was required in 11 instances.
