National campaigns are now in the hands of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Fisheries, the responsibilities having been transferred
from the Food Ministry.
New legislation is before Parliament, but it seems unlikely that
anything will appear on the statute book before 1950.
Maintenance treatment of the sewers has again been carried
out, one during December—January, and one in May—June.
Block control methods are used in the treatment of private
dwelling-houses.
Summary of Dwelling-houses and Business Premises treated
during 1948.

(3) Total charges for (2) above £73 18s. 9d.

The seventh and eighth treatments of sewers were carried out during the year, with the following results:—
