The Ambulances are equipped with Oxygen apparatus, which have
been in use on 7 occasions during 1927.
LABORATORY.
At the Town Hall Laboratory, 3,618 swabs from the throats or
nose; of persons in contact with sufferers from Diphtheria, or themselves
supposed to be suffering from Diphtheria, and 287 specimens of sputum
from persons suspected to be suffering from Consumption, have been
examined during the year. Of the swabs, 505 were positive, and of the
sputa, 46 specimens.
Other bacteriological and serological examinations are made by
arrangement with the Prince of Wales's Hospital.
