The Council of this Borough does not employ or subsidise
directly any midwife practising in the Borough. A large number
of the women, confined in their own homes, are attended by district
midwives attached to and practising' from the several training
schools for pupil midwives in the district, viz. Plaistow Maternity
Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital, and the Essex County Nursing
Association Branch in Leytonstone.
