Grit Deposit Measuring Gauges In conjunction and With the
co-operation of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research,
the grit deposit measuring gauges have been maintained and samples
collected monthly for analytical examination.

Gauges Nos. 6 and 7 were re-sited on the 1st October,, 1958.
The Borough is now adequately covered by the three grit
deposit gauges which are roughly 1½ miles apart.
