SMOKE ABATEMENT
The few chimneys attached to industrial premises in the
district have been kept under observation.
During the year two smoke and grit nuisances were detected
and abated as a result of informal action.
in 1951 grit deposit gauges will be installed to measure
the grit fall in the north of the Borough,
