During 1946 it was again possible to maintain a satisfactory
numerical standard of sampling over a wide range of commodities.
Of the total samples 3.70 per cent were found to be other
than genuine, this fact being a very gratifying feature of the
year's sampling, This percentage figure excludes informal
samples repeated formally. Two successful prosecutions were
instituted.
