SMOKE ABATEMENT.
There are few chimneys attached to industrial premises
in this district.
Pour smoke nuisances were detected, and three abated.
In the fourth case, where a considerable emission of gritty
particles was detected, a grit extractor and mechanical stoker
were recommended and were awaiting delivery at the end of the
year.
