total Tuberculosis death rate in 1938 was 0.57 per
1,000 of population, compared with 0.47 per 1,000
of population in 1936. The corresponding death
rates for England and Wales in 1938 were: Pulmonary,
0.53 per 1,000 of population; Nonpulmonary,
0.10 per 1,000 of population. Total rate,
0 63 per 1,000 of population.
