(d) Cases in which dwelling-houses have again
become overcrowded
At the end of 1938, an investigation was made
into the dwellings which were found to be fully taxed
at the time of the Overcrowding Survey.
This investigation involved enquiry in the case of
166 dwellings, and the result is tabulated below :—

From an analysis of the returns, the following
facts emerged :—
(1) The number of fully taxed dwellings
had reduced from 148 to 34.
(2) Seven cases of overcrowding were revealed as under :—

Plans for the erection of 44 houses to provide for
the rehousing of the overcrowded cases revealed by
the Survey have been completed and it is anticipated
that building will commence in 1939.
HOUSING ACT, 1936.
Applications for "Permitted Number" Certificates
continue to be received, and 271 premises were
measured in 1938.
