two were mildly positive, giving an immunising rate
of 976 per cent. Of twenty-one older children submitted
to the Schick Test before injection, seventeen
were positive and four negative. These figures suggest
that the child population has a relatively low natural
immunity to Diphtheria and that artificial immunisation
produces a very satisfactory percentage of immunes.
The following table shows the distribution in age
groups of the children receiving three injections of
T.A.F. during 1937
