Action was taken upon the unsatisfactory samples but
prosecutions were not necessitated. The Public Control
Department licensed one dealer/processor of pasteurised
milk and during the year 11 inspections were made of the
premises and 52 samples of milk procured. 181 premises
were visited in connection with the Department's duties under
the Merchandise Marks Acts. 1887—1927 and 69 premises
in connection with the Labelling of Food Order. 1953.

Sterilised Milk) Regulations, 1949
