Recuperative Holidays

holidays for persons not in need of medical or nursing attention
and during the year 13 cases from the Borough have been sent away.
The length of convalescence was two weeks in each case.
Domestic Help Service
The Domestic Help Organiser reports as follows:—
The provision of help to homes deprived of one parent, a scheme
started towards the end of 1956 has proved a valuable addition to
the Home Help Service. With this help the families have been able
to remain together rather than the children being separated and sent
to foster homes.
