of Agriculture and Fisheries Circular.
The treatment of sewers on the lines laid down by the Ministry of
Agriculture and Fisheries was carried out twice during the year and the
results are shown in another part of this Report. Arrangements were made
and supervised as previously by the Deputy Senior Sanitary Inspector.
Warfarin, the newest of the poisons, continued to be used with good
effect. It must be remembered that Warfarin is an addition to the usual
poisons, and is not used to replace them. It is used when difficulty is
experienced with other poisons and is in most cases effective when other
materials are less so. Warfarin has also been found to be effective against
mice.
Close co-operation and good harmony exists with the officials of the
Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, and the quarterly meetings are most
helpful.
The Council's refuse tips were watched but no major infestation was
observed, as the tips are well supervised and refuse covered so as to prevent
any nuisance.
