Vaccination and Immunisation.
The scheme for vaccination and diphtheria immunisation has been
Carried out largely by means of the medical practitioner service. The
number of children under 5 years of age who were immunised against
diphtheria shows a drop of over 200, but this is due to the fact that
immunisation was stopped during the months of August and September
during the outbreak of poliomyelitis.
The number of children who completed a full course of primary
immunisation against diphtheria during the year is set out below:—
Under 5 years of age 641
5 to 15 years of age 120
761
The number of children who received a secondary or re-inforcing
Injection was 402.
