(c) Nursing in the home. No change.
(d) and (e) Clinics, Treatment Centres and Hospitals. During
September and October, many persons from the heavily
bombed areas in London were billeted in schools and
halls in the district, and during this period a sick bay or
convalescent home for 30 patients was opened in
Loughton to provide better conditions and simple
nursing for those unfit to remain in the rest centres.
At the same time improvised clinics were established
and held daily at three of the rest centres, and
communal feeding arrangements set up at the halls
and schools.
