Two cases of food poisoning were investigated during the year.
In one case no food was obtainable to be sent for analysis, in the other
case, tins of Brisling were sent to the Counties Public Health Laboratories
who reported as follows:—
"Apart from examination for bacteria of the Salmonella group,
search was also made for staphylococcus aureus, streptococci, B. coli
and B. welchii with negative results in all cases."
Further tins were sent to the Analytical Laboratory who reported
as follows:—
"I find no chemical evidence of any objectionable impurity."
