The table hereunder gives the number of cases of Scarlet Fever and Diphtheria that occurred in the several Institutions in the district during 1921 :—

The following table shows the number of cases which have been notified, and the number and percentage of cases which have been removed to Hospital :—

One case was also reported among the military population and
removed to hospital.
The incidence rate of Scarlet Fever in the civil population
was 4.68 per 1,000. Six deaths took place from this cause during
the year. The mortality rate was 18 per cent.
The following table shows the number of notifications received and the percentage of cases of Diphtheria removed to Hospital :—

In addition to these cases two military cases were reported
and removed to Hospital.
The incidence rate per 1,000 of the civil population was 214.
Thirteen cases occurred in public institutions during the year, 11
of the persons affected being non-residents. 12 deaths took place
from this disease, i.e. a case mortality rate of 13 per cent.
