Public Health Inspector as their representatives on the Standing Conference

all co-operating bodies. This Conference met twice during the year.
No progress was made during 1960 to implement the scheme which the Council
approved in 1959 to enable the making of Smoke Control Orders covering the whole
of the Borough. Since the end of 1960, however, a Technical Assistant (Clean
Air Act) has been appointed, and at the time of writing the inspection work
upon the proposed first 3noke Control Area has been commenced.
