During 1958 two standard deposit gauges and two lead peroxide
instruments were sited, one of each at Wimbledon Cemetery and at
Cannizaro Nursery. These two sites were approved by the Department
of Scientific and Industrial Research and recordings were commenced
on the 1st April, 1958.
After exposure for one month, the collecting jars and lead peroxide
candles are sent to the Public Analyst for examination. When the results
are received, a copy of each is sent to the Department of Scientific and
Industrial Research for publication in the Atmospheric Pollution Bulletin,
together with the results of observations by 488 Local Authorities
and other Organisations.
