MATERNAL MORTALITY.
No deaths in childbirth, either from puerperal sepsis or other
maternal causes, were recorded during the year. Only three maternal
deaths have occurred in the Borough in the last ten years.
The maternal mortality rate for England and Wales per thousand
live and still births was 0.38.
