SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Milk.
All the milk sold in Wimbledon is brought into the area from
other districts.
Under the Milk (Special Designations) Regulations 1936/46, 35
licences were granted to retailers, as follows: —
Pasteurisers' Licences Nil.
Dealers' Licences—
Tuberculin Tested Milk 8
Pasteurised Milk 12
Supplementary Licences 15

Thirty six samples of milk were taken for bacteriological examination
during the year, thirty two of which were satisfactory.
On two occasions legal proceedings were taken against a retailer
for selling milk in a dirty bottle. Fines amounting to £35 5s. 0d.
and costs amounting to £10 13s. 0d., were imposed on the retailer
by the Court.
