AIR RAID SHELTERS.
Four hundred and ninety-throe visits wore paid to air raid shelters
in the Borough. Thirty-four of these were carried out by the Medical
Officer of Health or his Deputy, three hundred and fifty-three by the
Sanitary Inspectors, and one hundred and six by the Health Visitors. In
fifty-one instances defects due to inadequate lighting or ventilation,
dampness, uncleanliness, or sanitary accommodation were reported to the
A.R.P. Department for attention.
INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Milk Supply.- Practically all the milk for retail sale is.brought
into the area from other districts.
