Each application for admission is carefully considered.
A child is only admitted when it is genuinely necessary for
the mother to go out to work.
The whole of the ground floor at the Nursery was redecorated
with washable paint during the mid-summer
vacation. A part of the ground in front to the Nursery was
turfed. This lawn is much enjoyed by the children during
the dry weather.
Towards the end of the year the Public Health Department
was transferred from 20, Queen's Road, to the new
Town Hall.
I should like to take this opportunity of expressing my
gratitude to the staff for the loyal and efficient way in which
they have carried out their duties, and to thank my colleagues
in other departments for their kind help and co-operation.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
HAROLD ELLIS.
