Eight hundred and sixty two preliminary or informal notices
were served in respect of eight hundred and forty houses.
One hundred and sixteen statutory notices were served in
respect of ninety-seven houses.
The necessary work was executed in all but eighty-one cases,
which were not completed by the end of the year. In sixty-four
of these, the work was actually in hand at the close of the year.
Table III. gives a summary of the nuisances abated, and
improvements carried out under the supervision of the Sanitary
Staff of the Public Health Department.
