The revenue derived from the admission of patients from
outside areas since 1919 now exceeds £24,000.
479 cases were admitted to the Wimbledon Isolation Hospital
during 1928, making a total of 548 cases under treatment
during the year, 69 cases remaining under treatment from
1927. 269 cases were from Wimbledon, 201 from Kingston,
8 from Caterham, and 1 from Wandsworth.
Scarlet Fever:— 57 cases were admitted as scarlet fever.
Serum treatment was given to all the more serious cases of
Scarlet Fever on admission to hospital. No deaths from
scarlet fever occurred in hospital during the year amongst
the 157 cases treated. The chief complications that arose
were otorrhœ, rhinitis and adenitis. There were two cases
of albuminuria and one case that developed acute nephritis.
