All the 1930 cases were notified in April—two from Whipps Cross
Hospital and one from St. Bartholomew's Hospital.
(K) CHICKENPOX.

Chickenpox first became notifiable during the week ending 22nd March, 1930, and the following table shows the monthly incidence by Wards:—

Apart from a few secondary cases in the same houses all cases of
Chickenpox were visited by a member of the Medical Staff for
verification of diagnosis and, as already detailed, five cases were
found to be suffering from Smallpox and not Chickenpox.
(L) MEASLES.
Measles is not a notifiable disease in the Borough, but the incidence
can be gauged by the following totals of school children reported by
Head Teachers to be suffering from this disease.

These notifications are made under the Education Committee's Regulations as to Infectious Diseases in Schools:—
