Nurse Children.— In April, 1930, work in connection with
the Infant Life Protection section of the Children Act, 1908, was
transferred from the Board of Guardians to your Council.
When the work was taken over, there were 134 Nurse Children
in Walthamstow; on December 31st there were 139. During
the nine months 67 new children were registered, 49 removed,
8 children were adopted, 2 died, and 3, having reached the age
of seven years, ceased to come under the Act.''

The following figures show the work done at the Centre during the past five years:—

The attendances of old cases are larger than those given in previous
Annual Reports owing to the addition of "incidental" children
attending. The number of cases on the live register at the end of
1930 was 1,639.
