CLINICS.
Dr. Sheppard has kindly contributed the following report on the
good work done at the Centre during 1930:—
"Maternity and Child Welfare Clinics are held at the Council's
Centre at Low Hall Lane on two afternoons weekly, Wednesdays
and Fridays.
Owing to the large numbers attending these sessions, it was
decided that sufficient individual attention could not be given
to the mothers in the weighing room and an extra afternoon for
weighing and selling food was added. This session shows signs
of becoming popular, and many mothers from the Hale End
Ward have expressed the desire to have a similar session in their
district.

In July, 1930, a year's work was completed at the new premises in Low Hall Lane, and it is interesting to compare the numbers of cases which attended with those which attended at Truro Road during the previous twelve months.''

"There is a doctor in attendance at the Wednesday and Friday
afternoon sessions. All new cases are seen as a matter of routine,
whilst all those in regular attendance are seen if medical advice
is required. In this way 989 new cases and 1,833 old cases
were seen, making an average of 28 cases seen per session.
Two children were sent by your Committee to Brookscroft
for in-patient treatment.
Case 1.—D.P. Aged 1 month. Marasmus. Remained in
one month and is now doing well.
