that night attendants could be provided in approved cases under a scheme
introduced by the County Council, arrangements were made in Ilford to
work this in conjunction with the Association's scheme. The Association
have therefore continued to make all the arrangements but the County
Council have made agreed payments to the Association in respect of
approved cases where need in meeting the cost of the service has been
proved. Up to the 31st December, 1953, assistance was given in this way
in respect of 12 cases, involving a total of 123 nights' attendance.
Home Nursing.—The Home Nursing Service in Ilford is undertaken
by Nurses under the supervision of the Superintendent of the Lady
Rayleigh Training Home at Leytonstone. Efforts to find suitable premises
to establish a Branch Home in Ilford have at last been successful and
"Abury House" in Aldborough Road, Ilford, was opened in the autumn
of 1953.
