(а) The net estimated population is found by deducting the population of Claybury and West Ham Mental
Hospitals and the Australasian Hospital from the gross estimated population.
(б) The net number of births is obtained by taking the uncorrected number of births supplied by the local Registrar
and adding to or subtracting from it such a number as is supplied for this purpose by the Registrar-General.
