3. Tuberculosis.— During the year 1936, there were 143
new notifications of Pulmonary Tuberculosis and 33 of other forms
of Tuberculosis. 22 cases of Pulmonary and 12 cases of NonPulmonary
Tuberculosis were transferred to Ilford.

Of the 82 deaths which occurred of Ilford residents, notification
had previously been made of 69 of the cases; 2 were notified
after death; 11 were not notified (13.5 per cent, of the deaths, or a
ratio of 1 in 7). Communications were sent to enquire why notification
had not been carried out, in 5 cases the diagnosis was only
