Of the above patients:—
(a) 308 paid an additional fee of 15s. to the Council for the service
of one of the midwives of the Home.
(b) 1 paid a fee of £3 3s. for the services of the Assistant Medical
Officer of Health.
(c) 110 paid a fee of £1 Is. for the services of the Assistant Medical
Officer of Health.
(d) 4 paid a fee of £5 5s. for the services of the Consulting Obstetric
Surgeon.
(e) 2 paid a fee of 10s. Od. per week for the maintenance of babies
in the Home apart from their mothers.
The work of training Pupil Midwives has continued in a satisfactory
manner; 6 who were engaged during the year were successful
in passing the examination of the Central Midwives' Board.
