The considerable amount of dental disease present in children is shown by a perusal of the following table relating to school children inspected in the routine age groups by the School Dentist:β

(d) Treatment of Uncleanliness.βIt was found necessary to
deal with 38 children under the Education Act, 1921, Section 87,
statutory notices being served on the parents. In 24 instances the
statutory notices not being complied with, the children were
brought to the School Clinic by the Nurse and cleansed.
The School Nurses paid 130 visits to the schools, for the purpose
of inspecting the heads and clothing of the children, with
the following result:β
