Notes to Table III.
The classification and numbering of Causes of Death are
those of the "Short List" on page XXV. of the Manual of the

and followed in all cases of doubt.
(а) All "Transferable Deaths" of residents, i.e., of
persons resident in the District who have died outside

England and Wales who have died in the District,
are in like manner excluded from these columns.
For the precise meaning of the term "transferable
deaths" see footnote to Table I.

infirm situated within the district, whether of
residents or of non-residents, are entered in
the last column of Table III.
(c) All deaths certified by registered Medical
titioners and all Inquest cases are classed as
"Certified"; all other deaths are regarded as
"Uncertified."
(d) Title 19 includes deaths from Diarrhoea and Enteritis
at all ages.
