During the year there were 52 births, equal to an annual
birth-rate of 38.1 per 1,000, and 36 deaths, corresponding
to a death-rate of 26.3 per 1,000.
There were 8 zymotic deaths, viz., 5 from measles;
and 3 from diarrhœa; these were equal to a zymotic
death-rate of 5.8 per 1,000.
Four notifications were received, viz., scarlet fever 3
and erysipelas 1.
21 of the total deaths were children under 5 years.
B.— The Little Coram Street Block.

The average number of residents during 1898 was 752,
viz., 635 adults, and 117 children under 5 years.
